(AP) ? Computer technicians battling to contain a complex virus last month resorted to the ultimate firewall measures ? cutting off Internet links to Iran's Oil Ministry, rigs and the hub for nearly all the country's crude exports.

At the time, Iranian officials described it as a data-siphoning blitz on key oil networks.

On Wednesday, they gave it a name: A strike by the powerful "Flame" malware that experts this week have called a new and highly sophisticated program capable of hauling away computer files and even listening in on computer users. Its origins remain a mystery, but international suspicion quickly fell on Israel opening another front in its suspected covert wars with archenemy Tehran.

"This virus penetrated some fields. One of them was the oil sector," said Gholam Reza Jalali, who heads an Iranian military unit in charge of fighting sabotage. "Fortunately, we detected and controlled this single incident."

The Flame virus ? a mix of cyberspy and hard-drive burglar ? has been detected across the Middle East recently. But Iran's linkage to the oil network attack in April could mark its first major infiltration and suggests a significant escalation in attempts to disrupt Iran's key commercial and nuclear sites. Iran is one of the world's leading oil producers.

Two years ago, a virus called Stuxnet tailored to disrupt Iran's nuclear centrifuges caused some setbacks within its uranium enrichment labs and infected an estimated 16,000 computers, Iranian officials say. At least two other smaller viruses have been detected in nuclear and industrial centers.

The Flame program, however, is widely considered as a technological leap in break-in programming. Some experts also see the same high level of engineering shared by Stuxnet, which many suspect was the work of Israeli intelligence.

"It is very complex and very sophisticated," said Marco Obiso, cybersecurity coordinator at the U.N.'s International Telecommunication Union in Geneva. "It's one of the most serious yet."

Israel, a world leader in computer security, has never confirmed or denied any involvement in Stuxnet or other viruses that have hit Iranian networks nationwide.

Israel fears that Iran's nuclear program is geared toward developing a weapon that might be turned against it and Israel itself is believed to have nuclear weapons.

Israeli leaders have repeatedly said that "all options are on the table," a phrase that is widely interpreted as meaning the possibility of a military strike and other measures that could include cyberwarfare.

Already, Iran and Israel have traded accusations of carrying out clandestine hits and attack conspiracies in locales stretching from the Baku to Bangkok.

Iran claims Israeli agents are behind the slayings of at least five nuclear scientists and researchers since 2010. Earlier this month, Iran hanged a man convicted of carrying out one of the killings after allegedly being trained by Israel's Mossad spy agency. Israel denied any role.

Authorities in several countries, meanwhile, are investigating possible Iranian links to bombings and plots against Israeli targets and others, including a wide-ranging probe in Azerbaijan's capital Baku.

On the cyber front, Iran says it has sharply boosted its defenses by creating special computer corps to protect crucial online infrastructure. Iran also claims it seeks to build its own Internet buffered from the global web, but experts have raised serious questions about its feasibility.

Iran's Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology Ali Hakim Javadi was quoted by the official IRNA news agency Wednesday as saying that Iranian experts have produced an anti-virus program capable of identifying and removing Flame.

"The anti-virus software was delivered to selected organizations in early May," he said.

That would have been at least two weeks after officials say it penetrated Iran's Oil Ministry and related sites. Within hours, technicians decided to close off the Internet connections to the ministry, oil rigs and the Khark Island oil terminal, the jump off point for about 80 percent of Iran's daily 2.2 million barrels of crude exports.

Gholam Reza Jalali, who heads an Iranian military unit in charge of fighting sabotage, told state radio that the oil industry was the only governmental body seriously affected and that all data lost were later retrieved.

"This virus penetrated some fields. One of them was the oil sector. Fortunately, we detected and controlled this single incident," Jalali said.

Obiso, whose agency is helping to direct the international response to Flame, said the virus first came to the group's attention in mid-April and researchers have been working on unraveling its code since.

"We still think Flame has much more to show," he said.

The Russian Internet security firm Kaspersky Lab ZAO said the Flame virus has struck Iran the hardest, but has been detected in the Palestinian territories, Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

It also has been found in Israel ? leading some Israeli security officials to suggest the virus could be traced to the U.S. or other Western nations.

Experts describe it as a multitasking mole. It can wipe data off hard drives, but also be a tireless eavesdropper by activating audio systems to listen in on Skype calls or office chatter. It also can also take screenshots, log keystrokes and ? in one of its more novel functions? steal data from Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones.

Israeli's vice premier on Tuesday did little to deflect suspicion about the country's possible involvement.

"Whoever sees the Iranian threat as a significant threat is likely to take various steps, including these, to hobble it," Moshe Yaalon told Army Radio when asked about Flame. "Israel is blessed with high technology, and we boast tools that open all sorts of opportunities for us."

Iran says is has previously discovered one more espionage virus, Duqu, but that the malware did no harm Iran's nuclear or industrial sites. Jalali said Flame is the third.

Dozens of unexplained explosions also have hit the country's gas pipelines in the past two years. Officials have not linked them to cyberattacks, but authorities have not closed the books on the investigations.

Poll: Romney leads Obama by 6 points in key swing state Florida

A new poll shows likely GOP nominee Mitt Romney moving ahead in the crucial swing state of Florida to take a 6-point lead over President Obama.

Romney holds a 47 to 41 percent lead among registered voters, according to the latest Quinnipiac University poll. Romney trailed Obama by 7 points in the same poll taken in March and held a 1-point lead early in May.?

A majority of Florida voters surveyed said that Obama did not deserve a second term 52 percent to 44.?

"Gov. Mitt Romney has slipped into the lead in Florida, and that standing is confirmed by his much better numbers than the president when voters are asked whether they view the candidates favorably or unfavorably,? said Peter A. Brown, the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute assistant vice president.?

The poll found voters viewed Romney favorably by a 44 to 35 percent margin, while only 45 percent viewed Obama positively to 50 negative.?

Romney leads Obama among men with 50 percent support to 37 percent and trails among women by only 1 point, with 44 percent to Obama?s 45.?

Quinnipiac also found that Florida?s freshman Sen. Marco Rubio, a favorite of GOP conservatives, would boost Romney in the state. A Romney-Rubio ticket bests Obama and Vice President Biden by 49 percent to 41.

On the issue voters rank as most important, the economy, Romney is viewed as the better candidate. But Florida voters, mirroring those in other swing-states still see the president as more likeable. Seventy-six percent of Sunshine state voters say Obama is likeable to 58 percent for Romney. Even a majority of Republicans, 58 percent to 38, say Obama is likeable.?

The poll also finds that Obama?s endorsement of gay marriage is not hurting him with the state?s voters. Given a three-way choice, 36 percent said they favored gay marriage, 34 percent preferred civil unions and 23 percent opposed all legal recognition of same-sex partnerships.

But the issue appears to rank low on voters' minds in a year dominated by economic issues. Twenty-two percent of Florida voters said gay marriage was ?extremely important? or ?very important? in the presidential race. Twenty-six percent said it was ?somewhat? and 49 percent said ?not important.?

The Quinnipiac poll surveyed 1,722 registered voters from May 15-21 and has a 2.4 percentage point margin of error.

Home Improvement Tips for First Time Homeowners | Kitchen ...

The thrill of being a property owner is tough to explain until it has been skilled firsthand. The sense of pride and accomplishment that comes from owning a home is a feeling unto its own. One of the first points that homeowners often right away do soon after moving into their property is personalize it with their own furniture and wall art. Even prior to all their boxes from moving day are unpacked, new homeowners are contemplating furnishing and house improvement projects that they would like to undertake.

For several, house improvement means creating a swimming pool in the backyard, such as a gazebo, or adding further rooms to the home. For other people, turning a house into a residence may mean undergoing a enormous outdoor landscaping project or perhaps even remodeling the kitchen. Frequently, focusing on such large undertakings can overshadow other smaller however equally critical projects that support to make everyday life a richer encounter. Just before diving head first into huge renovation projects, think about the following beneficial property improvement guidelines for 1st time homeowners:

With an entire house and yard to serve as a canvas, the possibilities are seemingly limitless when it comes to residence improvement projects. Too often though, the modest and exclusive details that make life enjoyable are sadly overlooked, that is, till they begin to cause issues. For example, contemplate the annoyance caused by pests.

Insects and rodents can be discovered anywhere whether your first home is older or is new construction. Ants are the most typical pest problem in households across the US. Although exterminators providing high price services will try to convince you that treating your property every single six weeks is the only way to rid them from your home, a household insecticide such as a liquid ant killer really should do the trick for a fraction of the price. An ultrasonic repellent is also a great pest control remedy if you have children or pets, as they do not rely on harsh or hazardous chemicals. As an added bonus, ultrasonic repellents also keep away rodents, cockroaches, and spiders, which is one thing especially essential if you live in an location where there is continual construction.

Since 1st time homeowners are, in many cases, used to paying utility bills connected with apartment-style living, the 1st set of bills can be a massive shock. Windows, typically an overlooked area, are one of the approaches in which homeowners can minimize the quantity of cash that they invest on electricity monthly.

A lot of people wrongly assume that solar screens are the only way to prevent household heat loss and air leakage. Whilst solar screens do cut down on electricity usage, they are incredibly expensive to install inside of your home. The easiest way to save funds and make both your property and life much more power efficient is to tint your windows. Vinyl window tinting film is a permanent and affordable answer that can be applied to your existing windows. In the time that it would take to schedule a solar screen consultation, every single window in the home could be tinted and forgotten about. The finest component about tinting your windows at property is that if you later on decide to go for the pricey solar screens, it is extremely effortless to remove the tint.

A lot of first time homeowners grow to be so caught up in the excitement of owning their first residence that they typically forget just what a shrewd investment they have produced. Like all investments, there are numerous actions that one can take to improve the value with relative ease. Once more, most people look at landscape and swimming pools when they are taking into consideration home improvement, but kitchen improvements are what actually raise the value of a property the most.

Unfortunately, kitchen remodeling is also a costly project to undertake. Appliances, tile floors, new paint and cabinets can all add up to dizzying heights and an even far more towering price. Rather than becoming talked into debt-inducing remodeling projects at your nearby residence improvement store, take stock of your kitchen and take into account what actually needs to be updated the most. Rather than sanding and painting or buying replacements, use this low price cabinet make-over that no property improvement store will ever tell you about.

In shops you can now uncover PVC sheets in wood grain patterns that are obtainable in a selection of shades. Merely cut the sheets to fit your tired, cracked or chipped cabinets and affix it in place. In less time than it takes to discover the tools required to refinish cabinets, your kitchen will look refreshed for pennies on the dollar and will look great.

Russia says West still considering military action on Iran

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia's deputy foreign minister said on Sunday that military action against Iran over its nuclear program was being considered in some Western countries.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov was speaking to reporters on a plane on his way back from the G8 summit in Camp David, where the G8 leaders signaled their readiness to tap into emergency oil stockpiles quickly this summer if tougher new sanctions on Iran threatened to strain supplies.

"It is one of many various signals coming from various sources that the military option is considered as realistic and possible," he said. "We are receiving signals, both through public and intelligence channels, that this option is now being reviewed in some capitals as more applicable in this situation".

"We are very worried about this. We do not want the region and the world to fall into...new divisions and bitter political arguments," he said.

Western countries suspect Iran's nuclear program is aimed at making a nuclear bomb, a charge Tehran denies.

A European Union embargo of Iranian crude takes effect in July and tough new U.S. sanctions come into force in late June. Iran's oil exports have fallen by more than a fifth this year.

Russia has adamantly urged Western nations not to attack Iran to neutralize its nuclear program, saying that threats would only encourage Tehran to develop such weapons.

Ryabkov dismissed suggestions that Russia, the world's biggest oil exporter, sought to keep tensions around Iran on the boil in order to benefit from higher global oil prices.

"It would be a simplification and possibly even a deliberate distortion of Moscow's position to believe that based on some wild, egoistic intentions, we want oil to cost $200 per barrel," Ryabkov said.

He said Russia wanted to keep oil prices stable at a level acceptable to consumers and suppliers. He said that any gains from the oil price spike would be short-lived.

A meeting between Iran and six world powers - Russia, China, the United States, Britain, France and Germany - is scheduled to take place in Baghdad on May 23.

Ryabkov said Russia had drafted a set of proposals for the Baghdad talks, saying negotiations needed to produce evidence of progress to the international community.

Proposals included suggested steps for Iran to restore international confidence as well as incentives on cooperation, said Ryabkov, adding that any followup round of talks should take place within weeks in order to maintain the momentum.

"Practical results are needed that can be shown to the international community as evidence that we are moving forward," Ryabkov said.

TENSIONS OVER SYRIA

Much like with Iran, Moscow has long urged Western powers not to intervene in Syria over bloodshed in which the United Nations says more than 9,000 people have been killed.

At a G8 summit in France in May 2011, Russia successfully managed to water down a statement on Syria removing calls for action against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Ryabkov said that this time part of the G8 statement which concerns Syria, which called for a "political transition leading to a democratic plural political system", fully satisfied Russia.

"Anything that will be a product of the process of national reconciliation and dialogue will satisfy the Russian side. We are nobody's advocates in this process," he said.

Ryabkov said Assad's departure from power in a scenario similar to Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who had been granted immunity from prosecution, was discussed at the G8 summit, but Russia opposed the idea.

As G8, NATO gather, a thought: what would Romney do?

As world leaders meet this weekend for back-to-back summits hosted by President Barack Obama six months ahead of US elections, they would be forgiven for asking themselves a maladroit question: what would Mitt Romney do?

Obama is locked in a tightening reelection battle against a presumptive Republican nominee who has already raised hackles in G8 and NATO member states for his positions on Afghanistan, China and Iran and for calling Russia the United States' "number one geopolitical foe."

With the struggling US economy front and center for voters, and Romney picking away at Obama's inability to generate a more vibrant recovery, foreign policy has been pushed to the back burner at Romney's campaign appearances.

But that hasn't stopped him from accusing the president of coddling Russia, or being soft on China and Iran, or Obama from painting Romney as a foreign policy lightweight naive to the complexities of a world beyond the Cold War.

As Obama basked in the global spotlight of the G8 gathering at the presidential retreat in Camp David and prepares to host NATO's 28 member states Sunday and Monday in Chicago to discuss war politics, Romney has laid low, with no public events Saturday and fundraisers Sunday and Monday.

But he hasn't been silent. The White House challenger issued no less than four statements on foreign policy in under 36 hours, including one Saturday praising the G8 for seeking to boost oil supply as a way to "strengthen our hand in confronting Iran" and criticizing Obama for taking "precisely the opposite approach."

He also blasted Obama Friday for failing to sufficiently pressure the Castro regime in communist-ruled Cuba, saying if he were president "the regime will feel the full weight of American resolve."

It is hard to know what European leaders may be thinking about a possible Romney presidency, although it is unlikely to be effusive, given the Republican Party flagbearer's propensity to bash Europe on the campaign trail.

In January he warned of Obama's plan to turn America "into a European-style entitlement society," even as the continent has pursued a plan of austerity -- Romney's remedy for excessive US government spending -- to bring fiscal balance to a teetering eurozone.

He's toned it down since, only to see France offer a belt-tightening backlash by electing President Francois Hollande of the Socialist party who urges an easing of austerity measures.

And Hollande insisted to Obama before meeting with G8 leaders Saturday that his vow to pull French combat troops out of Afghanistan this year -- ahead of NATO's 2014 deadline -- was not negotiable.

Romney's view? In a statement on NATO before the 28 member states gather in Chicago, and just after Hollande took office, Romney said NATO members must "carry their own weight," and that Obama's policies on missile defense and military cuts have only served to "undermine the alliance."

European diplomats have said they expect Romney would reveal himself as a pragmatist should he win the White House.

"The core of the transatlantic partnership will not change under a President Romney," a German diplomat told AFP recently.

"The harsh rhetoric on Europe is motivated by the (US presidential) primary campaign."

Romney has packed his team with several former officials in president George W. Bush's administration, including Paula Dobriansky, a Bush undersecretary of state now at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government who opposes what she calls a "politically driven timetable" for withdrawal in Afghanistan.

He also brought in Nile Gardiner, who heads a Romney working group on Europe and may have sat seething as G8 leaders in their joint communique Saturday stressed "the importance of a strong and cohesive eurozone."

"The United States has nothing to gain by propping up the euro, which is increasingly likely to break apart," Gardiner, a senior expert at the Heritage Foundation, wrote in a paper for the conservative think tank.

"Washington should play no role in keeping it on life support."

Romney also has hawkish backers like Bush UN envoy John Bolton, who wrote in the USA Today in January that US forces may need to consider "pre-emptive military action to break Iran's (nuclear) program."

Political professor G. Terry Madonna of Franklin and Marshall College said Obama currently held the foreign policy advantage among US voters, a view upheld by recent polls.

"Americans," he told AFP, "want firmness but not saber rattling."

Is this true about cardio and aerobics? | Health and Fitness | Current ...

Question by celicast2002: Is this true about cardio and aerobics?
I read that 20mins of cardio or aerobics in the morning on an empty stomach burns fat more effectively than 30mins a day after a meal since it takes 20mins to start burning fat.

Best answer:

Answer by Dave
Your question is highly debatable and there is no clear answer. We dont know for sure, no one knows, they just tell you what they think. No doctor, bodybuilder, scientist, trainer, researcher, or teacher knows the answer to your question before. I read a 33 page post on a bodybuilding forum where people were arguing about it, and let me tell you, some of the top bodybuilders were part of it. I mean bodybuilders you see on tv that win competitions. It also included pharmacists and other people who have a deep knowledge of the human body. Theres also studies that have gone both ways. For some reason, we still dont know the answer.

But whatever the answer is, I can tell you this. You need to go longer with the cardio, I would do at least 45 min either way, whether your doing it before or after food. And if your doing it before food, I think you should take a couple amino acid pills so you minimize muscle loss.

Just to let you know, the whole debate has to do with what is actually lost. Some people say that when you do cardio on an empty stomach, you lose more muscle than if you have food in your system, which is not something you want to do (lose muscle).

Know better? Leave your own answer in the comments!

Library opened by Mark Twain falls victim to cuts

By David Wyllie, breakingnews.com

LONDON -- A British library opened more than a century ago by one of America?s greatest writers is being closed because of austerity budget cuts.

Kensal Rise public library, in north-west London, was unveiled in 1900 by Mark Twain while he was living in the city.

He donated five of his own works to its initial collection, which had been established in celebration of Queen Victoria?s Diamond Jubilee.

But 112?years later -- and days away from the Diamond Jubilee of Victoria's granddaughter, Queen Elizabeth II -- the library is facing its end as part of spending cuts by the local council.

It has been locked up and unused for more than a year. Workers for Brent Council attempted to clear out the remaining books on Wednesday but were met with resistance from local campaigners.

Since the closure was announced, a group of activists has called for it to be saved, enlisting?modern British literary figures such as Alan Bennett to their cause.

For the activists, the library is a piece of history worth holding on to but the council says the number of users is too low to justify keeping it open.

It is one of six libraries closed in the area, representing a 50 percent cut in services. The council says it has used some of the savings to support a remaining library within a civic center that is more popular.

The building was donated to the community by Oxford University?s All Souls College through an Act of Parliament. Under that law, the facility can only be used by the council as a free library. The library?s closure means ownership will pass automatically back to the college.

A spokesman for All Souls told msnbc.com: "This is not something we engineered, this is not something we ever contemplated happening and we regret what is happening."

Campaigner Margaret Bailey expressed anger at the closure and pledged to continue the fight, praising "the support of the local community."

The protesters have set up a small free-loan library outside to distribute books to the community.

Bailey hopes to present a proposal to the college to establish a private volunteer-run library at the site.

The council has suspended its closure plans the removal of books in order to consult further with the campaigners. But for now the books will stay in their boxes and the library will remain closed.

He knew the risks, and knew enough to watch for crevasses.

"I saw that there was a little crack and started probing with a pole to see where the crevasse is," Popov told CTV News. "Just as I was doing that, the whole thing collapsed under me and I found myself in a very nasty hole, it was quite deep."

In fact, it was about 50 meters (164 feet) deep.

Popov wasn't hurt in the fall. But he sat there in the deep crevasse waiting for two hours before rescuers arrived. It might have been longer if another skier hadn't noticed that Popov was suddenly no longer behind him.

Neither Popov nor the other skier had a cell phone. The good Samaritan skied to where he could alert a search and rescue team. A helicopter brought in a rescue team and Popov was pulled out of the crevasse.

Popov's incident is a cautionary tale: Don't ski alone and bring a rope in this kind of terrain, under these conditions.

"I wouldn't recommend touring alone," said Daren Romano with Whistler Search and Rescue. "Be prepared for self-rescue if you're going with a party. Take some ropes with you."

Pain relief through distraction -- it's not all in your head

Friday, May 18, 2012

Mental distractions make pain easier to take, and those pain-relieving effects aren't just in your head, according to a report published online on May 17 in Current Biology, a Cell Press publication.

The findings based on high-resolution spinal fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) as people experienced painful levels of heat show that mental distractions actually inhibit the response to incoming pain signals at the earliest stage of central pain processing.

"The results demonstrate that this phenomenon is not just a psychological phenomenon, but an active neuronal mechanism reducing the amount of pain signals ascending from the spinal cord to higher-order brain regions," said Christian Sprenger of the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf.

Those effects involve endogenous opioids, which are naturally produced by the brain and play a key role in the relief of pain, the new evidence shows.

The research group asked participants to complete either a hard or an easy memory task, both requiring them to remember letters, while they simultaneously applied a painful level of heat to their arms.

When study participants were more distracted by the harder of the two memory tasks, they did indeed perceive less pain. What's more, their less painful experience was reflected by lower activity in the spinal cord as observed by fMRI scans. (fMRI is often used to measure changes in brain activity, Sprenger explained, and recent advances have made it possible to extend this tool for use in the spinal cord.)

Sprenger and colleagues then repeated the study again, this time giving participants either a drug called naloxone, which blocks the effects of opioids, or a simple saline infusion. The pain-relieving effects of distraction dropped by 40 percent during the application of the opioid antagonist compared to saline, evidence that endogenous opioids play an essential role.

The findings show just how deeply mental processes can go in altering the experience of pain, and that may have clinical importance.

"Our findings strengthen the role of cognitive-behavioral therapeutic approaches in the treatment of pain diseases, as it could be extrapolated that these approaches might also have the potential to alter the underlying neurobiological mechanisms as early as in the spinal cord," the researchers say.

The spring auction season for jewelry and watches is upon Geneva, where elegant lakefront hotels fill with well-heeled buyers and bidders in a scene far removed from the debate over European austerity.

Five bidders fueled the price on Tuesday at the Sotheby's sale for the Beau?Sancy, a 34.98 carat diamond that had passed among the royal families in France, England, Prussia and the Netherlands. It was sold by the Royal House of Prussia, the line of descendants that once ruled Prussia.

Another historical item, the Murat Tiara, sold for $3.87 million. The pearl-and-diamond tiara was created for the marriage of a prince whose ancestors included the husband of Caroline Bonaparte, Napoleon's sister.

?A diamond brooch known as the "Bonnie Prince Charlie" sold for $968,085. The brooch features a yellow diamond once owned by Charles Edward Stuart, whose attempt to regain the British crown led to the Battle of Culloden in 1745.

?At a Christie's auction Monday to benefit 32 charities favored by the Lily Safra Foundation, Safra's donated jewelry fetched nearly $38 million in sales ? almost double what was expected.

?The most expensive item there was a 32.08-carat Burmese ruby and diamond ring that sold for $6.7 million, a world record price for a ruby sold at auction. Eighteen jewels by the designer JAR collectively brought in $11.4 million.

?After the auction, the billionaire Lily Safra beamed as she won a standing ovation from the buyers and bidders she had come to thank.

?She later told reporters that selling a heap of jewels for charity ? rather than keeping them unused in a vault ? felt like one of the best things she'd ever done in her life.

Mobile technology can revolutionise a business

Mobile technology can revolutionise a business

ALMO Your Homes Newcastle is a great example of how IT can revitalise a business service. Their investment in smartphones and tablets has helped bring their tenant concierge service into the 21st century.

Geoff Ellingham is head of IT for Your Homes Newcastle told The Guardian that new hardware helps make their staff more efficient. They worked with software provider NDL to overhaul their system by where previously residents reported problems directly to them via an on-site office and they carried out other duties such as block inspections.

?The last thing we wanted was a complicated back office system,? he said. ?The technology provided by the software house we used allowed us to build the screens and interfaces we needed quickly and easily, as well as ensuring they fitted our needs exactly. The system is known in technological terms as ?agnostic?, which means we are not tied into a single operating system or device so our options for the future are open.?

He said that the firm expect to save ?1.1 million a year through this project, after the costs associated with the project have been taken into account. Technology also works in terms of the location of their mobile workforce: there has been a recruitment freeze in place for some time and the vast majority of displaced employees have been reallocated to other posts within the organisation.
