Simon Cowell and Mezhgan Hussainy: It's Sort of Over!

When it comes to potential professional artists, Simon Cowell has a very clear idea of what he wants. When it comes to love? Not so much.

The singer tells UK's The Daily Mirror that he and Mezhgan Hussainy - a makeup artist he met behind the scenes of American Idol in 2003 - are no longer engaged. But are they still dating? We'll let Simon explain:

"It's quite a complicated relationship. We have had a break from each other, and we are still incredibly close," Cowell tells the newspaper. "I'm vulnerable. It's not on, it's not off, it's somewhere in the middle. I don't know if I will ever get married, but I am happy."

Hussainy has reportedly moved out of the Los Angeles mansion she shared with the music mogul - and into another home nearby where Simon's other famous ex, Teri Seymour, also stayed after she split from Cowell. Friends allegedly refer to this residence as the "girlfriends graveyard."

“I don’t pay them off," Cowell says of his history with women. "But if you have been with someone long enough, there is a ­responsibility. You can’t say one minute you can live this type of life and then the light goes off.”
