Over 1,600 km with a Ford Focus 1.0L EcoBoost!

Two Norwegian drivers, Knut Wilthil and Henrik Borchgrevink, recently travelled 1,619 kilometres with a full tank of gas... in a 125-horsepower Ford Focus 1.0L EcoBoost!

These two hypermiling specialists once covered a distance of more than 2,160 kilometres with a Ford Mondeo SW ECOnetic Technology equipped with a 115-horsepower, 1.6L TCDi engine

For their latest feat, they started in Kautokeino (400 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle) and drove through Norway, Finland, and Sweden. They maintained an average speed of 60 km/h, and did so without a number of amenities, including air conditioning.

In the end, Wilthil and Borchgrevink achieved 3.3L/100km, while the official fuel consumption rating by Ford is 5.0L/100km.
